Fatma is a distinguished master artist celebrated for her exquisite 16th-century tile and ceramic creations. Born in Bursa, the Ottoman Empire's first capital, Fatma's artistic journey was profoundly shaped by the rich tapestry of history and culture that surrounded her from an early age. This fascination with intricate architectural beauty and ornate details like tiles, calligraphy, and carvings led her to pursue Turkish tile and ceramic art education.
With 25 years devoted to her craft, Fatma's work has graced local and international exhibitions, including a prominent 20 square meter wall panel in Turkey's Parliament. Her artistic style blends diverse techniques to create a harmonious and unique orchestra of creativity. She finds inspiration in legends, mystical themes, and emotions, infusing her works with her personal interpretation of classics. "I create my own world with my own tracks, my own colors," she describes.
Fatma's vision extends beyond borders. She and her husband Kadir look forward to sharing a vibrant exchange of cultures and ideas when you visit.

VAWAA Includes:
- Create a 30 cm ceramic plate inspired by 16th century Iznik ceramics.
- Learn brief history of Turkish Ceramic art and different styles of Ottoman-era tile art.
- Explore tile materials and various application techniques.
- Learn to draw nature-inspired motifs like tulips, roses, carnations, hyacinths, cypress trees, “chintemani,” and galleons.
- Get inspired and sketch in the famous Rüstem Pasha Mosque, considered the living museum of tile art with 41 tulip motifs.
- Design a 30 cm diameter circular composition using the motifs based on your level.
- Transfer and contour the motifs on the ceramic surface using traditional techniques.
- Color the composition with special tile paint.
- Ceramic plate will be glazed and fired after the session, and can be shipped to your home for an additional fee.
- Learn to brew traditional Turkish Tea.
- Option to visit a local arts workshop or Süleymaniye Complex to watch the view of the Golden Horn and the Marmara Sea, if time permits.

The best time to visit Istanbul is between March and May, and September and November when the crowds are manageable, room rates are average, and daytime temperatures are comfortable. If you prefer fewer crowds, it's best to avoid July and August.

Sessions can be adapted for children between the ages of 10–16 under parental supervision.
Fatma speaks Turkish and has basic proficiency in English. Her husband Kadir speaks fluent English and will be available to help with translation, if needed.
