Meet the Artist

Naja is a renowned Danish/Australian ceramicist, sculptor, and textile designer, with 20 years of experience. Raised in an artistic and architecturally rich family, she draws inspiration from her lineage, which includes her grandfather, Jørn Utzon, the Danish architect behind the iconic Sydney Opera House. As a teenager, she sailed the Mediterranean on a 56-foot yacht, cultivating a deep admiration for nature's beauty, from volcanic terrains to the vast sea.

Naja's artistic vision is rooted in nature and a global identity. "Home" is a fluid concept for her, but the feeling of belonging is distinct. Preferring organic clay hues over glazes, she uses various techniques to craft large-scale sculptures, from gravity-defying pieces to monumental outdoor works reminiscent of ancient Welsh slate columns. Throughout her career, Naja has collaborated with architects globally, earning recognition in prestigious exhibitions like the Venice Biennale.

Eager to share her wealth of experiences, Naja views the creative process as intensely introspective. She looks forward to the enjoyable challenge of guiding others to discover the same joy in working with materials as she has.
