Meet the Artist

Andreia is a weaver whose work is rooted in Portuguese fibers and techniques. Inspired by the “Alentejo” style, known for its colorful, geometric intricate patterns from Portugal’s Alentejo region, her weavings reinterpret these iconic Portuguese patterns with modern colors and yarn types. Alentejo weavings, characterized by the use of local fibers, are likewise reflected in Andreia’s work that incorporates local wool and natural fibers.

Her diverse practice encompasses hand weaving, latch hooking, and cross-stitching, drawing inspiration from her graphic design background and the guidance of master weavers. Her creative process reflects a deep connection with the materials, infusing each creation with a sense of life and individuality. “I appreciate the value of owning special objects and try to incorporate that in what I do. Therefore, every piece I make is unique.” She strengthens her connection to the fiber cycle by spinning, dyeing, and quilting with textile waste alongside her weaving practice.

Andreia's creative journey is not just about crafting textiles; it celebrates storytelling, sustainability, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge, echoing through each meticulously woven thread. She is excited to share this passion and explore new points of view.

Explore Lisbon

Lisbon, a cultural gem, seamlessly blends old-world charm with vibrant modernity. Andreia poetically describes the city as a living canvas, where vibrant light, intricate patterns on tiles, rocks, and buildings inspire her with their rich colors and stories. Every narrow cobblestone street whispers history, leading to ancient cathedrals and ornate tile facades.

Beyond its past, Lisbon pulses with a dynamic arts scene—contemporary galleries, street art, and the soulful melodies of Fado music in intimate cafes. This fusion of tradition and modernity transforms Lisbon into an endless source of inspiration.
